PICK UP & RETURN

  • I will pick up you and your party from DFW airport.

  • Our first stop will be Bass Pro Shops so that you and your party may purchase fishing licenses.  In addition, your party may do a bit of shopping and we may also enjoy a meal at the internal restaurant.  The Bass Pro Shops is less than 10 minutes from the airport.

  • Our second stop is Lake Fork which is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from the Bass Pro Shops.

  • Upon our arrival to Lake Fork you will find that all kit and camp has been set up and the swim baited.

  • On the final day, before I return you and your party to DFW airport, I will take you to Potts Feed Store.  This is a picturesque farm store with fantastic Texas style gifts.  The gifts range from custom made ladies handbags to cowboy signs that read "My Barn, My Rules."  Such a great reminder for the misses.  Ha ha!

FOOD

  • Each morning I will prepare a breakfast of eggs, sausage, and cinnamon rolls.
  • Sandwich fixings are provided each day for lunch.  You may make your sandwich in any manner you wish.

  • Each evening a simple dinner will be provided such as kielbasa and beans or a curry dish.  This may include on occasion, Chili; AKA Texas Curry.  Often times my mother cannot resist the urge to prepare meals for all at the nearby cabin.

  • This food will be filling and nutritious but not gourmet.  This is "bank side food."  Eating at restaurants, purchasing of additional groceries, and drinks other than bottled water are at your expense.

FACILITY

  • We will be fishing from decks attached to boathouse/s.  This puts us approximately 40 yards out from shore so casting and baiting is much easier.  It also provides a clean and level footing area.

  • The bedding provided will be a bed chair.  There will also be individual tents.

  • A larger group tent will also be provided for congregation, eating, drinking, and all out story telling.

  • Toilets, shower, and clothes washing machines are located at the cabin which is a short distance to walk; approximately 130 yards.

  • Emergency shelter, in the case of extreme weather, is also at the cabin.

  • If you desire to fish another part of the lake I have a deck style fishing boat that we can use as a floating platform.  The cost for this is 110 USD/day.

 BAIT

  • Bait will be provided in the following increments;

  • 25 dry lbs/day/person of Range Cubes.  Range Cubes are a nutritious cattle feed product with molasses as a sweetener.  Carp and buffalo love them.

  • 5 dry lbs/day/person of Calf Manna pellets.  Calf Manna is another cattle feed product that is very nutritious, 25% protein in fact, and is flavored with anise.  This product may be used by itself as a pellet in pva or it may be used as a method base mix.

  • 5 wet lbs/day/person of prepared particles.  The particles will be hot soaked in thick molasses. This will be a combination of maize, hemp, and tiger nuts.  Tiger nuts are the preferred hair bait.

  • I will also provide flavoring.  My favorite method is to soak through Calf Manna pellets with this oil based flavoring. It makes a fantastic method ball.  The flavoring is PVA safe.

  • Amounts in addition to the daily quantities previously stated are at your own expense.  Range Cubes are less than .30 USD/lb and Calf Manna is less than 1.00 USD/lb.

  • Boilies are NOT recommended for Lake Fork.  Lake Fork is home to a very large and VERY voracious population of catfish that absolutely love boilies.  It is also home to an enormous population of turtles that can chomp a boilie to nothing in 5 minutes flat.  Fishing with boilies will result in a great deal of frustration.  If you must have boilies you can order them from www.bigcarptackle.com and have them delivered to me prior to your arrival.

  • I have a boat used for baiting.  Boating out the bait and lines, during the day only, is free of charge.

  • I recommend using tiger nuts as the hair bait.  The carp and buffalo love them and the catfish like them the least.

  • I have a GPS device with detailed lake bed contour mapping for all to use for accurate baiting.

 KIT

  • I will supply kit such as custom built Harrison Chimera blank rods, Shimano reels, rod pods, spod rods, throwing sticks and spoons, nets, certified scales, slings, keep sacks, and unhooking mats.

  • The reels will be spooled with 12 – 14 lb P-Line Co-polymer main line.  No floating main lines are permitted due to the fact that they often get caught in the propellers of passing by boats.  Only sinking lines are permitted.

  • All lines MUST be back leaded.

  • I will supply all terminal tackle needed for assembling stiff rigs.  If you prefer other rigs I recommend that you bring your own end tackle.

  • You will need to bring your own alarm system.  This includes hangers or swingers.

  • You will need to bring your own PVA.

 CLOTHING & WEATHER

  • You will need to bring appropriate clothing.  I recommend a layered system such as a base/compression layer, mid layer such as polyester fleece, polypropylene fleece, or wool fleece, and a rain shell.

  • I DO NOT recommend cotton anything.  This can be a dangerous material at any time of year due to its moisture retention.

  • Bring warm head, foot, and hand wear.

    • Texas can be freezing cold and windy one minute and then sunny and warm the next.  Our continental weather is very inconsistent and can turn extreme with very little warning.  Please be prepared for weather as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit to as high as 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
