Lake Fork

 * The largest buffalo ever captured in central Texas is my 70 lb 8 oz Lake Austin Water Body Record.  However, east Texas has produced numerous 80 lbs including the official IGFA Rod & Reel world record, a few 90 lbs, and a massive 106 lb.  They are definitely bigger in east Texas than anywhere else in the world.   Many believe, including myself, that Lake Fork holds the largest of all!

"Out of all of the places I have fished in the world, I have never heard crashes as loud as the crashes I have heard on Lake Fork."
Peter Christensen, Denmark

         Lake Fork
  This is one of the most famous largemouth bass fisheries in the world and the home of Quasimodo.  The most magical lake of the mighty Sabine River System produces the most uniquely shaped buffalo specimens.  These fish seem to experience a rapid growth pattern that causes large humps to form behind their heads.  This shape and rapid growth pattern, to the best of my knowledge, has not been observed on any other lake.  I suspect a new world record capture to one day hail from Lake Fork.  Maybe the capture will be yours?

57 lbs 12 oz

Lake Fork also has beautiful commons,

and mirrors too!

To give examples of how special Lake Fork is consider the following;

  • Texas has some 1,100 lakes and out of all of the lakes in Texas, Lake Fork holds 35 of the top 50 largest largemouth bass captures including places 1-6.  That is absolute dominance!  This predator base, magical water, and abundance of forage such as thick beds of fresh water mussels, may be a few of the reasons why Lake Fork buffalo and common carp get so large.

  My Lake Fork campsite, as it is my family's private property, has all of the amenities such as restrooms, showers, groomed shoreline with a sea wall, even a covered boat house with a casting deck.  You will not be disappointed with this venue.  The location and scenery are spectacular.
